Hold the mail! What a nice surprise. This local establishment has excellent food, and a menu with some unusual menu options from El Salvador and Honduras cuisine. As the last stop on my "All Dine" Mail Route, Rincon is a low-budget, slightly-worn restaurant with low-cost and used furniture. It shows some age, and consequently, looks like it has potential for bugs. Hopefully, any of those are Stamped-out. Delivered to me: - Chips y salsa: chips are from a supplier, one salsa (red), and medium hot, a bit watery but tasty. Very good. - Cole Slaw (jalapeno in marinade) in a large jar that you use tongs to grab a batch and put on your plate. Certified good taste! - With tacos, they deliver a secret orange sauce vinegar and bit of pepper - Guacamole (cup $3): Very very very fresh and chunky, not overly mixed, and with a few chopped onions and bits of red tomato. Excellent. Enough for 2 people. - Two beef tacos for $1.75 were delicious. Beef was in small pieces, and had good grilled and seasoned flavor; plus, fresh ingredients, including a sliver of avocado. Put a dab of guacamole and a dab of the salsa, and it tastes wonderful. - Pork & Cheese Pupusa: not much pork, but these also were cooked fresh and tasted delicious. So, no junk mail on this trip. I'll weigh-in on some interesting menu items: Loroco papusa - a plant from El Salvador (see http://www.worldcrops.org/crops/Loroco.cfm) Higado encebollado (liver and onions) Baleadas - Honduran street fast food (Sort of a breakfast taco) Drinks of many flavors Items with Banana or Plantain Next stop on the mail route: Alma Latina (no need to go, someone's already been there)
